Footbridge. c1774. Gritstone rubble, ashlar coping. Single arch of basket
form spanning both canal and south towpath. Flanking walls terminate in
pilasters and are angled to provide a wider approach to the bridge. The
voussoirs painted white with an indicator marking the centre of the canal.
Cast-iron plaque bearing the number "186" on each face. The canal
separated the church from the vicarage and Kildwick Hall; the bridge was
therefore an important footway linking the two parts of the settlement.
