4/98 Stansfield Farmhouse



Farmhouse, perhaps 1678 (datestone). Rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys
and three bays, all with double chamfered stone mullioned windows. These are of
3,5 and 3 lights to the ground floor and of 3, 4 and 3 lights above. Between
the first two bays are a small, more recent window and chamfered doorway with
Tudor head. Over this doorway is "Built by SP 1678" in C18 lettering.
(c.f.item 97). Two chimneys, that on left gable external but obscured by the
modern link to the stable. q.v.
