6/113 2 stone coffins
(approximately 300 metres
to west of Swinton

2 coffins. Probably Roman, rediscovered in 1835. Set out for William Danby
of Swinton Castle. Stone. Monolithic sarcophogi carved out with curved
sides, 1 with flat bevelled lid, the other having triangular-sectioned lid
hipped at one end. A semicircle of large random-lain stone surrounds the
