9/19 Mill House

23.8.78 Midland Bank and store


Mill, now house. c1720, with later alterations. Brown mottled brick
with red brick dressings and pantile roof. 2 storeys, 7 bays. Small
outshut to left gable. 5-course plinth containing blocked segmental
headed arch between third and fourth bays and in fifth bay. Steps to
C20 doors in second and fourth bays, blocked doorway to sixth bay.
Blocked window with inserted circular pane to first bay, single pane C20
window to third bay, 4-pane casements to fifth and seventh. First
floor: first bay as ground floor; second, fourth and sixth blocked;
12-pane Yorkshire sash to third; brick flat arches and jambs, with
replacement soldier arches to fifth and seventh bays. Parapet has
7 blind panels. End and ridge stacks. 'North Yorkshire and Cleveland
