SE 44 NE HEALAUGH THE OLD COACH ROAD

1/59 Healaugh Manor west

GV II

House. C19 using earlier materials and with C20 additions. Magnesian
limestone ashlar facade with pinkish-brown brick and stone and cement tile
roof. Central hall plan with outshuts to rear anad left. 2 storeys,
3 bays. C19 panelled door under 4-centred arch in chamfered surround.
Outer bays have windows of 3 lancet lights with chamfered mullions and
surrounds. 2 trefoiled-lights with straight head above door. Corbel table
at eaves level. Swept roof and end stacks. Presumed to have re-used
material from Healaugh Priory (qv). The windows to the outer bays are
similar. The corbel table is similar to that on the south side of
St Andrew's Church, Healaugh (qv). The trefoiled lights are similar to
those in the Church. Various runic fragments are also incorporated into the
facade as well as a medieval coffin, and a cat with shield.
