Farmhouse. Probably mid-late C17 with C18 range to left and later additions
and alterations. Reddish-brown brick with magnesian limestone ashlar plinth
and pantile roof. Now L-shaped on plan with infil to rear. Main facade
fronts river. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Present entrance to rear a C20 door.
Original entrance to central bay now partly blocked with inserted plate
glass window with fanlight. Flanked by full-height ornamental pilasters
with Ionic capitals and jewels. Rusticated architrave of rubbed brick.
First-floor band, stepped to left bay, otherwise with modillions of rubbed
brick. To first floor a similar pilaster to right-hand bay. C20 casements
throughout, that to ground floor, left side under flat arch of rubbed brick.
Roof hipped to left and end of rear range, evidence of demolished bay to
right. To rear a small, round-arched opening and a mullion window, now
blocked. Interior has beams to some ceilings and ovolo moulded beam to rear
coal store. Panelled room to right-hand bay with 8-panel doors. Evidence
of mullion windows to coal store.
