4/44 The Old Vicarage
GV II

House formerly vicarage. Probably mid C18 with earlier origins and later
additions and alterations. Magnesian limestone with pantile roof. T-shaped
on plan. 2 storeys, 2 bays with 2-storey, 2-bay wing to left. Off-centre
entrance a C19 plank door under wedge lintel. Further end entrance in C20
porch, a plank door. Ground floor has 16-pane Yorkshire sash. First floor
has 16-pane sash and 6-pane sash under segmental arches and with stone
sills. Wing has quoins and blocked openings with re-used 3-light cavetto-
moulded mullion window with later transom to left return. Roof hipped to
left and front. End and rear stacks. Somewhat dilapidated at time of
resurvey.
