Mid Cl9. Built by George Hudson, the "Railway King". East Parade elevation
in 2 sections. Rendered. Welsh slate roof. Left hand section has mansard
roof with dormers. 12 windows, double-hung sashes with glazing bars. Right
hand section of 4 storeys. Hipped slate roof. Attic storey above heavy
cornice. 11 windows, 2:3:1:3:2, centre and quoin sections project slightly,
centre with 2 finials. Ground floor has glazed canopy over main entrance,
glass doors, ornamental fanlight. 6 steps. One double door and 3 blocked
doors all with cornices on consoles. Glazed canopy above ironwork, late
C19, of a 'Chinese' design. North terrace elevation similar, mansard roof.

Kirby Hotel, Nos 5 & 6, Railings to Kirby Hotel & Nos 5 & 6 & Royal Hotel
form a group.
