5/54 Melbourne House
- II

House. Mid C18. Painted brick with stone quoins to front, hammer-
dressed stone to rear. Pantile roof. Brick stacks. Central stairhall
plan, 1 room deep, with rear service range. Symmetrical, 2-storey, 3-
window front. Central 6-panel door under rectangular fanlight in fluted
pilastered doorcase with moulded cornice on grooved consoles. Sash
windows with glazing bars to upper sash. Gauged brick arches
throughout. Coped gable walls with moulded kneelers. End stacks to
front range of double span roof. Interior: C19 enclosed staircase and
mid C18 fireplace to ground floor room to left.
