5/31 Manor Farmhouse and
attached out building


Farmhouse with attached cottage and outbuilding; now single dwelling with
outbuilding and garage. Late C18 - early C19, with later alteration.
Coursed, squared chalk on brick plinth; brick quoins and dressings; pantile
roof; brick stacks. House originally central stairhall plan, 1½ rooms deep,
later extended into L-plan cottage to left; outbuilding to right partly
converted to form garage. House: 2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front, with
1½ storey cottage to left, and 1½ storey outbuilding to right. Central
6-panel door with patterned overlight, flanked by 16-pane sashes. Similar
windows to first floor flanking uneven 20-pane sash. Round-headed,
radial-glazed staircase window to former cottage. Two square pitching holes
in former outbuilding. All openings are set in quoined brick surrounds.
Tumbled brick gables to house. End stacks.
