12/56 No, 10 (Chestnut house)


Farmhouse, now house. Mid-late C18, with later alteration. Coursed squared
chalk, now whitewashed, on stone plinth; stone quoins; pantile roof; brick
stacks. Central stairhall plan, 1½-rooms deep, with rear service extension.
2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front. Centre 6-panel door with divided
overlight. Sashes to ground floor; 16-pane sashes to first floor. All
windows have stone sills. All openings have flat, gauged brick arches.
Coped gable and plain kneeler to left. End stacks.
