7/7 Thistle Grove Farmhouse
and barn extension

Farmhouse, now 2 houses. C18-early C19. Coursed squared stone. Pantiled roofs,
the left part renewed in concrete pantiles. Stone copings and curved kneelers.
Rebuilt brick chimney at left, corniced stone chimney at right. Two storeys,
2 bays. Left part irregular. Door filled and new door in lower 2-storey
extension, mostly in use as barn. C20 cross casements and an original fixed
light at first floor centre. Right part symmetrical with 16-pane windows having
opening centre sections. Half-glazed door. Pent and gabled rear extensions.
Interior shows a partly-filled inglenook with slightly chamfered beam and small
cupboard. Small fixed light behind. Good roof with coupled principals and 2
levels of butt purlins, all chamfered and with clear carpenters' marks. Dog-leg
staircase missing lower balusters.
