House. Early C19, with later C19 extension. Herringbone-tooled grey
stone on plinth, with tooled sandstone doorcase and lintels; pantile
roof. Central-stairhall plan, one room deep; rear service wing later
extended at side. Half-glazed door beneath added cornice hood, flanked by
canted bay windows with 12-pane sashes. First floor windows are unequal
9-pane sashes with fasciated keystone wedge lintels. Stone sills to all
windows. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End stacks. Rear. Tall,
small-pane staircase window. Wing of 2-storeys, 2-windows. Ground and
first floor left windows are tripartite with centre sashes beneath
fasciated keyblock wedge lintels. Smaller similar window inserted at
first floor right. Interior. Closed-string, dogleg staircase with
column-on-vase balusters, moulded, ramped-up handrail and turned newel,
rises to attic. Late C19 extension to right not of special interest.
