Oak tree House and Oak
Dene

2 houses, 2 or 3 buildings, mid C18 and late c18. oak Dene at right is later
but incorporates 1 bay of the older house; this bay itself may have been an
addition. Coursed tooled sandstone, the courses varying in depth on Oak Tree
House. Pantiled roof on Oak Tree House and the left bay of Oak Dene, with stone
ridge and copings, brick stacks; Welsh slate roof on rest of Oak Dene. Oak Tree
House: 2 storeys, 2 narrow bays, irregular. Right 4-panel door under small
gabled hood on long shaped brackets. Tiny sash at extreme right; 16-pane sash
at left on 2 12-pane sashes on first floor all with projecting cills.
Cornice-banded left end and right ridge stacks. Oak Dene: 2 storeys, 2 wide
bays. 4-panel central door with overlight under extended Beyed lintel. right
and left tripartite windows, with central opening sashes, on both floors, that
on ground floor left possibly C18. 2 right-hand windows have extended lintels
with tall keys like the door; left-hand windows have heavy, tooled lintels; all
have projecting cills. Projecting kneeler and chimney at right.
