Farmhouse and outbuildings mid-late C18. Coursed sandstone with light herringbone-
tooling. Pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings and kneelers, stone and brick
stacks. Hearth-passage plan. Main house 2 storeys and attic, 2 wide bays, down-
house 1 storey, 1 bay with 1½ storey, 1-bay outhouse extension. Main house has
central 6-panel door in alternate-block surround with heavy downcurved lintel.
3-light windows, with central opening sash, on both floors; similar window in raking
dormer. Curved kneelers; cornice-banded brick right end and corniced stone left
end chimneys. Boarded passage door and similar window in downhouse, and ridge
stack. Outhouse has blocked door, cross casement and glazed loft opening. 3-bay,
1½-storey outbuilding at right forms near-symmetrical composition. 2 stable doors
and small fixed light at left; 2 plain casements at top right. Pent dairy extension
at rear of house. Interior: Local range in downhouse has peat slab, reckon and
oven with separate fire. Houseplace and parlour now thrown into one, with panelled
partition at rear and quarter-round moulded beams. Panelled firebeam and short
heck with built-in settle.
