NZ 70 NE GLAISDALE LEALHOLM SIDE


8/115 Prospect House


GV II

House, mid C19. Coursed tooled sandstone on high rusticated
basement plinth. Welsh slate roof with stone copings, kneelers and
stacks. 2 storeys and basement, 3 bays, symmetrical. Tall flight
of steps, with cast iron handrails, to central replaced half-glazed
door, with overlight, in stone surround with pilasters, panelled
frieze and pediment. Sash windows with vertical bars in moulded
reveals, those flanking door with panelled pilasters, cornice and
pediment, those above in panelled surrounds. Similar basement
windows in plain reveals. V-jointed quoins, flat frieze and moulded
eaves cornice. Low-pitched hipped roof with tall banded and
corniced end stacks. Domestic rear wing of 2 storeys, similar but
plainer.
