Beck Isle Musseum

SE 7984 1/49 12.5.69.
Late C18. Ashlar in 2 parts, the same height, the right hand 2 storeys and the
left 1 storey. Right-hand part, 2 storeys 3 windows, hung sashes with glazing
bars with Tudor style dripmoulds in a continuous moulding. Ground floor has
door on left hand with Doric columned porch with enriched frieze. Left hard
part has 2 lofty pointed headed sash windows of large size with ornamental glazing.
Band, parapet, slate roof. Plinth. Plaque states that William Marshall of Sinnington,
pioneer of agriculture 1745 to 1818 lived here and modified this building to
make a college of agriculture in l8l8.

Beck Isle Cottage, Beck Isle Museum and Farm buildings, Fern Leigh, Premises
occupied by J Watson and Rose Cottage form a group.
