House. Mid-late C18. Coursed, squared limestone to front; rubble stone to
sides and rear; pantile roof; brick stacks. Central staircase plan, one
room deep, with rear service wing. 2-storey, symmetrical, 3-window front.
Raised quoins. Central C20 6-panel door beneath divided rectangular
fanlight. All windows are 12-pane sashes with stone sills. All openings
have raised surrounds. Raised first floor band; cavetto-moulded eaves
course. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End stacks. Interior: open-
string staircase with shaped cheekpieces, stick balusters, moulded handrail
and turned newel. Ground floor room to right has fireplace in square
architrave, with a decorated frieze, enriched dentilled shelf; and a raised
and fielded panelled overmantel. Round-headed cupboards in moulded
architraves on either side of fireplace; moulded dado rail, and enriched
frieze and ceiling cornice. C18 cast iron spiral railings and gate to front
garden, raised on low stone wall, with urn finials. Stone gateposts with
ball finials. Railings attached to house by stone coped wall with quoined
corner pier.
