5/47 Wood House

House. Mid C18 with C19 re-facing and rear wing. Hammer-dressed limestone
to front, brick to rear, pantile roof. 3-cell baffle-entry plan with
parallel range to rear under M-shaped roof. 2 storeys, 3 first-floor
windows. C20 glazed door and 4-pane sashes beneath chamfered stone lintels
throughout. Sprocketed eaves. Right end and ridge stacks. Interior: splat
balusters. H-L hinges to many doors. Early origins for this house are
suggested by the building up of the right gable end, the plan type and its
interior features.
