House. Late C17 with C20 remodelling. Hammer-dressed limestone with ashlar
dressings, and pantile roof. Staircase hallway entry with 2 cross wings to
rear. 2 storeys and attic, 7 bays. Rusticated quoins. Central bay breaks
forward slightly and is ashlar-faced. Half-glazed door in Gibbs surround
carrying broken segmental pediment. 15-pane unequal sashes in keyed stone
architraves to ground and first floors, that to centre of first floor
flanked by pilasters, cyma-moulded eaves course. Casements to C20 inserted
attic dormers, with alternate triangular and segmental heads. Gable coping,
shaped kneelers, end and ridge stacks. Interior: 2 good carved wooden
fireplaces with foliate designs. Blocked tripartite fireplace to kitchen.
Open string column-on-vase staircase with ramped handrail. Early Sun Fire
Insurance plaque to left gable end.
