Incorrectly shown on Ordnance Survey map as Low Elm House. House. Early-
mid C18 with early C19 alteration and extension. Roughly tooled sandstone
to front and left gable wall; squared sandstone to rear and right gable
wall. Pantile roof. 2-storey, 3-window front, with single-storey extension
to left. Board door to extension with 4-pane casement to left, both with
heavy tooled lintels. Windows to front are 2-light, 12-pane casements to
ground floor and 12-pane sashes to first floor. Window openings have been
altered but retain sections of original quoins and chamfered lintels dressed
with bands of chevron tooling. Stepped eaves course. Coped gables and
shaped kneelers. End stacks. Left return: 4-pane fixed-light fire window
in chevron-tooled quoined surround with similar lintel. Rear: 2-light 8-
pane horizontal sliding sashes to ground and first floors. Interior:
ground-floor room to left retains stone heck with C19 range. Room to right
contains a segment-arched fireplace of chevron-tooled voussoirs. To right,
wall cupboard door of one recessed panel on butterfly hinges.
