House. Late C17, with late C18 and C20 alterations. Rubble, rendered, stone
dressings, slate roofs with brick stacks, pantiled and double Roman tiled rear
wing. Rear wing forms L-plan. 2½ storeys, 2:3:2 windows, centre 3 bays broken
forward, 3 gables with raised coped verges and saddlestones to central gable;
ground and first floor windows are sashes in flat architraves with a roll-moulding,
6-pane sashes at 2nd floor in similar surround, central gabled porch with 6-
panelled double doors and 4-pane window to each side in same surround, 2-light
cellar window right and left, plain band courses at ground and first floor levels.
Right return has ground and first floor left 18-pane sash with thick glazing bars
in plain surround, band courses returned only as far as windows. Left return has
band courses returned, blocked window at ground and first floor right (visible
through render) door in same surround to left and 6-pane sash at first and 2nd
floor left in same surround; lower 2-storey wing to left has C20 window with
segmental head and single light at ground floor, similar sash under eaves to
right. Rear originally had 3 gables as on front, altered by addition of rear
wing, gable to left has ground and first floor sash with floating cornice, similar
6-pane sash at 2nd floor, central gabled projecting bays have one sash at ground
floor, 2 at first floor and one 6-pane sash at 2nd floor; lower 2 storey wing to
right has single storey C20 porch in angle, first floor left sash also set in
angle and sash to right. Interior: front right room panelled, shutters to
windows, dado rail and cornice, rest of interior not inspected.
