Pair of houses. Mid - late C18 with later additions and alterations.
Hammer-dressed limestone with pantile roof and brick stacks. 2 parallel
ranges under M-shaped roof and cross wing to rear. Main facade: 2 storeys,
4 bays. Entrance to Ivy Cottage to third bay a half-glazed late C20 door
under wedge lintel. Entrance to Castle House to left return. Ground floor
has two 4-pane sashes to left and a 16-pane sash to right, the latter under
wedge lintel. 16-pane sashes to first floor under wedge lintels. Ridge and
end stacks. Included for group value.
