3/20 Elm Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. C19 alterations to earlier building, incorporating C16
doorway, later C20 alterations. Sandstone rubble, limestone doorway, double
Roman tiled roof with brick ridge and gable stacks. 2 storeys and 3 windows,
ground floor has two 2-light and two 3-light casements of irregular sizes, 3rd
from left with segmental head, door 2nd from right has 4-centred arched surround
with roll-moulding and hollow-chamfer, trefoils in spandrels and hood mould;
first floor has three 2-light casements under eaves; attached to left, single
storey addition with 2-light metal casement. Right return has 2-light casement
at ground floor, 2 similar windows at first floor. Rear has varied windows, one
3-light, two 2-light and one 4-pane light at ground floor, two 2-light casements
and 2 small C20 windows under eaves, door 2nd from left with timber lintel, small
stair light in chamfered wooden frame to right; addition to left has door and
4-pane window. Interior: not accessible. C16 door probably removed from Chew
Court (q.v.) at time of rebuilding.
