churchyard wall of Church
of St Andrew
Lychgate and wall. 1877. By G E Street. Gate of sandstone ashlar with
stone flag roof. Sandstone ashlar wall. Lychgate: 2-centred arch with
hoodmould. Gabled roof with cross at north end. Gableted buttresses on
both returns. Wall: low and buttressed, on chamfered plinth. Sloped and
roll-moulded coping. Interior of gate: pointed tunnel vault with closely
set transverse ribs. Wall completely encloses the churchyard of St Andrew's
Church (qv).
