ST 56 SE CHEW MAGNA C.P. SILVER STREET (west side)

3/53 Church House

G.V. II

House. Late C18/early C19 with later alterations and additions. Sandstone
rubble with limestone dressings, pantiled roof with raised coped verges. U-plan.
2 storeys and 3 windows, front has 2-storey wing to each side, all windows 16-pane
sashes, central 6-panelled and fielded door with Ionic fluted pilasters and C20
frieze above; wings have ground and first floor sash to inner sides, all with
keystone and voussoirs, wings have gable end to front, parapet and coping to main
front. Left return has 3 sashes at first floor; right return has sash at ground
floor left in wing, gable end of main range has 9-pane light at first floor left,
attached single storey block with hipped roof behind curtain wall. Rear and
interior not inspected.
