Milepost. Late C19. Made by Mattisons of Bedale. Cast-iron. Triangular
section with sloping upper surface. Inscriptions. Left face: "Helmsley 5
miles" below pointing hand. Right face: "York 18 miles" below pointing
hand. Sloping upper face: "-edale H.D.". Some damage to top left corner.
Manufacturers' name to rear.
