II
Farmhouse. c1770. Probably for the Deanery of York. Dressed sandstone;
pantile roof; brick stacks. Central stairhall plan, l½ rooms deep, with
service extensions to left and right. 2-storey, symmetrical 3-window front,
flanked by single-storey pent wings. Central panelled and glazed door with
patterned overlight, approached by stone steps. 16-pane sashes with stone
sills to either side, and three similar windows to first floor. Tripartite
keyed lintels to all openings. Each flanking wing has a single 9-pane sash.
Coped gables and plain kneelers. End stacks.
