(south side)
10/20 Crossgate House
House. Mid-late C18, with later alteration and extension. Dressed
sandstone to front and left gable wall; sandstone rubble to rear;
herringbone-tooled quoins; slate roof; brick stacks. Central stairhall
plan, one room deep; extension to right added. 2-storey, symmetrical 2-
window front. Central half-glazed door flanked by 2-light, large pane,
horizontal sliding sashes with stone sills. Tow similar windows to first
floor. Tripartite keyed lintels to ground floor openings. Coped gables
and kneelers; end stacks. Extension to right not of special interest.
