3/115 The Cottage and attached wall
21.9.60 and railings

House in village street. Late C17 building to right, mid C18 addition to left,
with C19 and C20 alterations. To right, roughly coursed rubble, double Roman
tiled roof-with brick ridge stack; to left, coursed limestone rubble with
sandstone quoins, and limestone dressings, slate mansard roof with raised coped
verges and brick end stacks, rendered rear. To right, 2 storeys and 2 windows,
all 2 and 3-light metal casements, half-glazed door to right, wall stepped back to
left; to left 2 taller storeys and 3 windows, all 3-light metal casements in
plain freestone surrounds, first floor central 2-light casement, central 6-
panelled door, one roof light; to right side, 6-pane cellar light with segmental
head, 2 single lights at ground floor, 2-light and single casement at attic level.
Rear has additions right and left with irregular fenestration including sash in
freestone surround at ground floor. Front low forecourt wall surmounted by plain
wrought iron railings in front range about 5 metres long. Interior: not
