Mid-C19, and part of same building as No 7. It appears to have had a stone slate
roof. Ground and first floors rebuilt with framed construction in late C19: glazed
overall: turned mullions with moulded capitals taking moulded spandrels: fluted
pilasters at either end taking fluted consoles. Ground floor has porch in antis, with
curved corners: door with glazed panel on which "Rayner Gents Mercer" is stencilled in
gold leaf in flamboyant contemporary lettering.

Good contemporary shop interior with panelled and grained counter, and shelves with
turned balusters.
