Nos 19 and 20
(Rodney House)

Probably early C19. 2 storeys. Rendered and colourwashed. Both properties
under one hipped slate roof. Brick chimney-stacks to ends and in centre of roof.
Projecting eaves. Pilasters with moulded capitals divide the front. 6 windows
(3 to each property). Sashes in plain reveals, with thin glazing bars. No 20
has modern glazed shop fronts projecting forward on ground floor. No 19 has
wooden shutters to all windows. Ground floor windows are extended down to form
French windows. Central round-headed doorway. 6-panel door, Semi-circular
fanlight with Y-tracery.

Nos 19 and 20, the fountain in Alexandra Road, and the Pier including the Tollhouse,
Marine Parade form a group.
