3/14 The Post Office
- II

House. c1859. By William Butterfield. Red brick, English bond, C20
tile roof. Square building, shop frontage to road and house front in
left return. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Shop has C20 half-glazed door right,
and large C20 shop window centre. To left a wooden casement of
3 lights, each with 8 panes, under a segmental relieving arch in blue
brick. Similar 2-light window above, under a gable. Diaper pattern in
blue headers to right, above shop window. Central brick stack stepped
with tumbled-in brickwork. House facade has central shallow gabled
porch, flanked on left by C20 wooden casement under segmental blue brick
arch, and on right by a small 8 pane wooden casement. A 2-light window
of 16 panes under a hipped dormer above.
