Farmhouse. C16. Coursed stone with brown brick and timber framing.
Stone slate roof with pantiles to rear. Hall and cross-wing plan.
Two and a half storey wings, 2 storey centre, 4 bays. Ground floor of
coursed sandstone rubble, bricks used in first-floor probably replacing
timber frame. C20 French windows in cross-passage position to right,
6-panel door to left. Windows all C20 casements; blind windows painted
in gables of cross wings and to right of first floor. Stepped eaves,
and dentilled string course over first-floor in gables. External end
stacks of stone heightened in brick. Rear: stone gable to left.
Smaller, gabled extension in centre, stone with brick over. Timber
framed gable (C20 work) to right. Right return has stone to ground
floor, with timber studs and short braces above. Interior reported to
have C16 plaster ceiling and fireplace in first-floor room to right.
