3/91 Nos 26 and 28


2 houses. Late C18. Coursed rubble, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 4 first-
floor windows, rooms to rear are under catslide roof. No 28 (left) has C20
half-glazed door with shallow pointed arch to stone lintel. Window to left
is a sliding sash with glazing bars under shallow pointed arch and a stone
sill. All first-floor windows are the same. To right of door - a square
C20 window with 9 panes, and stone lintel; to right again a wider opening
with shallow pointed arch. No 26 (right) has entrance now in right gable
end with C20 porch. Original doorway, now blocked, to left of window on
right. Windows: sliding sashes, as to No 28. End stacks and large stack in
centre, between the 2 houses. Interior - a timber post is visible between
kitchen and living room, No 28. This may be a timber-framed, single-aisled
house, now encased in stone.
