Stable block, now flats. Late C18. Possibly by Henry Holland for Prince
Frederick, Duke of York. Stucco with slate roof. Courtyard plan, with main
entrance on south, composed of a central pavilion with single-storey 2-bay
wings flanked by 1½-storey pavilions. Central pavilion has giant arch with
plain impost bands, round-arched sash windows with glazing bars to ground
floor and circular windows in the spandrels. Shallow open pediment above.
2 sash windows with glazing bars to wings. Blind arches, sash windows with
glazing bars and central 1st-floor circular windows to end pavilions.
Courtyard south front has carriage openings with double doors. Hipped roofs
to side ranges. The building has been converted to domestic use and is
being extensively modernised. Most of the windows on the east and west
sides are C20 insertions.
