6/20 Manor House and former
Smithy

GV II

Former house and smithy, now house. Late C18. Coursed squared limestone,
pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Symmetrical facade, 1½ rooms deep, with
continuous outshut to rear. 4 steps to C20 door in wrought-iron porch with
gabled roof. Flanking windows are side-sliding sashes of three 8-pane
lights. 2-light, 12-pane side-sliding sashes to first floor. Incised
lintels and wooden sills. Ashlar coping and shaped kneelers. Brick end
stacks. Interior not inspected. Lean-to former cattle-shed attached to
right; brick single-storey smithy building to left. The name 'Manor House'
was given to the building c1950 and does not indicate the original status.
