Castle Mill


Wier. Late C18 and later. Gritstone. Approximately 40 metres wide,
composed of massive gritstone blocks. The structure probably dates from the
earliest buildings at Castle Mill (q,v.), with modifications or alterations
in the early to mid C19 when a new water wheel was erected.
