Two pig sties with hen house over. Probably late C18. Probably built as
part of farm scheme for Daniel Lascelle's estate at Plompton. Coursed,
squared gritstone, stone slate roof. One storey with flooring below eaves
level, 2 bays. South side has 2 board doors to lower compartments; west
side has large doorway in gable, and small entrance for hens to left. Near
the ground, right, is a small chute through the wall which allowed food to
be poured into the stone trough inside the sty. A similar opening in the
east gable. The wooden ladders which would have given hens and humans
access to the nesting boxes do not survive.
