Country house. Late C18 with C19 additions. Ashlar plinth, rendered walls,
stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 6 first-floor windows in 3 bays defined by
giant Tuscan pilasters. 2 curved steps up to central double door flanked by
15-pane unevenly-hung sashes, all under a verandah with lead roof supported
by wrought-iron pillars. Similar sashes to far left and right. First-
floor: sashes with glazing bars and a shallow wrought-iron balustrade across
lower part; projecting stone sills. Dentilled eaves cornice; blocking
course between central pilasters. Hipped roof; stacks grouped to rear of
ridge. Rear: large central Venetian sash window with glazing bars and fan
decoration over central light. Right return: 2 storeys, 2 bays with service
range to right. Bay 1 has sash with glazing bars to ground and first
floors, and wrought-iron balustrade across upper window; square blind recess
above. Bay 2: similar ground- and first-floor windows are contained in a
tall round-arched recess and have projecting sill bands. A blind stone
balustrade under the eaves. Interior not inspected but reported to contain
contemporary doors and fittings.
