6/50 Gates, gate piers and
boundary wall to Manor
House

GV II

Gates, gate piers and boundary wall. Late C18 - early C19. Wrought iron,
ashlar and limestone. Gates of 2 leaves with plain bars and dog bars, lock
rails; central panel and upper edge decorated with scrolls. Piers:
rusticated ashlar, square in section, approximately 2 metres high each with
projecting band and shallow pyramid finial. Boundary wall: of coursed,
squared limestone, slightly shorter than the piers and approximately
60 metres long, extending from the south-west corner of the Manor House (qv)
to the entrance to Grange Farm. It has flat ashlar coping and is ramped at
the northern end.
