Boundary wall with west and south gates and gate piers. c1875. By William
Burges for the first Marchioness of Ripon, Snecked gritstone, wooden gates
with wrought-iron fittings. Wall: approximately 2 metres high and running
around the 4 sides of the church; chamfered coping. Gate piers (2 sets):
approximately 3 metres high with crenellated caps. West gates: 2 leaves;
small cusped panels to lower half, upper half open, with cusped braces
forming arches, long strap hinges. South gate: single leaf, similar style

carriage drive from Studley Royal House. The wall is sunk on its east side
to prevent any obstruction to the view of the east end of Church of St Mary
(qv).
