10/30 Sundial approximately 10
metres south of Burnt
Yates School

GV II

Sundial. Dated 1828 but base and shaft may be earlier. Gritstone. Height
approximately 1.2 metres. Square base, shaft with roll-moulding to foot,
separate cap incised with numerals and 'W C 1828'. Bronze gnomon. The top
part may be a later addition. Dials dated 1827 and 1828 are recorded at
Dacre Chapel and Hartwith Church (qv).
