south-west of Dougill
Combination farmbuilding. Dated 1733, for I and E Dougill. Coursed squared
gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. Cart-shed and byre with hayloft
over. 2 storeys, 3 or 4 bays. Quoins. East side (towards yard): 2 tall
loading doors under eaves; bulbous shaped kneelers, ashlar gable coping.
Left return: cart-shed entered though tall round arch with wide pitching
opening with timber lintel above. Right return: quoined byre doors at each
side, right one blocked; chamfered square window above, with datestone below
sill: ' D '. Interior: wooden byre divisions and feeding racks survive;
queen-strut roof trusses. Scaffolding holes left as vents in gable ends.
