loft range 10 metres south-west
of Dowgill Farmhouse

GV II

Stable, cart-shed and hay loft range, now outbuilding. Mid-late C18.
Coursed square gritstone, stone slate roof. 5 bays, built along steep slope
and enclosing west side of yard. Quoins. Central segmental keyed arch to
cart entrance, reduced to window. Flanking board door with quoined jambs;
windows with stone sill and lintels far left and right. Square openings
with stone surrounds to first floor, above stable doors. Shaped kneelers,
gable copings. Left return: external flight of stone steps with dog kennel
beneath, up to board first-floor door on left with long and short quoins.
