9/98 Garden wall to Spring


Wall. Probably early - mid C18. For Lawrence Danson (as house qv).
Coursed squared gritstone. Approximately 2 metres high, stepped down to 1.2
metres. Attached to south gable end of lower projecting range of house and
enclosing the garden on its west, south and part of east sides, turning
eastwards to form south wall to yard east of house. Rounded coping and 2
gates in west wall with stepped chamfer to lintels similar to that on the
byre range (qv).
