north-east of Denton Hall

Garden walls. Late C18 with later alterations. For the Ibbetson family.
Red brick in English bond, ashlar and gritstone. Approximately 3 metres
high, the main (south-facing) wall is approximately 100 metres long; the
west and east walls are the same length and have entrances in the south end.
Entrances have 4-panel doors in stone quoined surrounds with large lintels.
The brick walling is buttressed by ashlar piers with caps at coping level to
south; the central section of the south wall has been rebuilt, c1970. The
walls now enclose a paddock.
