House. Early - mid C17 with early C20 restoration. Coursed squared
gritstone, graduated stone slate roofs. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Plinth. C20
board door to bay 4 in restored surround with moulded edge. Recessed
chamfered mullion windows throughout, of 2, 5 and 4 lights to ground floor,
continuous hoodmould over, and right-hand window restored; similar
arrangement of windows to first floor but also with 2-light window over door
and between windows to left. Stone gutter brackets, bulbous kneelers with
shaped finials, gable copings and lateral stacks to rear of bays 3 (3 flues)
and 5 (2 flues). Rear: C20 outshut; blocked first-floor doorway with tie-
stone jambs to left; central transomed rebuilt stair window. Left return:
3-, 2- and 4-light windows all probably inserted; right return: a 3-light
ground-floor window with hoodmould returned from front; 3-light to first-
floor and a gable window of 3 stepped lights. Interior: fireplace to main
room bay 3 has a chamfered surround with shallow triangular head; bay 5
fireplace is tall and narrow and has a cyma-moulded surround with
3 semicircular motifs. Spine beams remain; said to contain original roof
trusses, not seen at resurvey.
