Milepost. Mid C19. Cast-iron plate, gritstone block, part buried.
Triangular in section with rounded head, approximately 80 centimetres high.
Inscriptions: top - "SKIPTON & KNARESBOROUGH ROAD / HAMPSTHWATTE"; left face
- "HARROGATE 4 MILES / KNARESBORO' 6 3/4 MILES"; right face - "SKIPTON 18
MILES". The iron plate is bolted to the block by 2 iron bolts through the
head.
