Lodge to Nidd Hall

GV II

Gates, gate piers, railings and walls. Probably c1890 for the 14th Viscount
Mountgarret. Ashlar and cast iron. Central double gates with spearhead
finials to bars and dogbars, similar flanking sections of railings between
piers. Inner and outer pairs of piers approximately 3 metres high are of
rusticated ashlar with cornice and have tall pyramidal finials. Curved
flanking walls approximately 2 metres high and 30 metres long have moulded
copings and end piers similar to gateway piers.
